The power of music is remarkable. When you feel down, it comforts you like a warm blanket on a cold night.

It also accompanies you in any situation. One example is when you’re on a romantic date, you can play soft music in the background to set up the mood.

Another example is when you can’t find the right words to express how you feel. You can simply choose a song that represents your feeling.

Even Johnny Depp agrees because he says, “Music touches us emotionally when words alone can’t.” In other words, music always got your back!

The Power of Music Help You Express Your Emotion

Psychology Today writes, “Music is what feelings sound like.” In day-to-day life, music often helps you navigate through the day.

When you’re feeling gloomy, you need a slow-sad song that understands the wound you feel. Or when you’re in love, you begin to listen to songs about romance.

In romantic movies, especially, sharing music is a kind of love language. Let’s start with Begin Again when Greta (Keira Knightley) and Dan (Mark Ruffalo) use the headphone splitter and listen to Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder.

In 500 Days of Summer, during the elevator scene, Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is listening to The Smiths when Summer (Zooey Deschanel) overhears the song and tells him that she likes The Smiths. The lyrics go, “Take me out tonight. Oh, take me anywhere, I don’t care!” Sure, we all know Tom is crazy about Summer.

Going further back, how about the iconic boombox scene in Say Anything?

Music Brings Creativity

To be creative, you must be in a good mood. When you’re in a positive mood, creative ideas will come to you. And it doesn’t have to be a song with lyrics you can understand!

If you search on Youtube, there are some ambiance videos with titles like,

You’re following the mysterious student who is sneaking out of the dormitories,”

You’re studying in a haunted library with ghosts,”

Even a more complicated backstory like,

Running away with your lover that you were told to stay away from while it rains.”

There must be a song that specifically fits your need for a creative source.
